Hello Aku,
Thanks for the positive feedback and special thanks for applying academic thought in your response. What I'd like is to have more discussion here, so invite some friends from your course to come and check it out!
Some of your issues will be addressed in a later section - especially where I apply Baudrillard to real/virtual space. I think you'll find that part of my series especially useful for your course.
As for Wikitude, I was involved in the launch of the T-Mobile G1 with Google last year through my work. I planned the Digital Media strategy that took it to early adopters and the early majority in the UK.
Wikitude was one of the apps planned for support, but sadly it was felt that too little could be done with it since such an education job was required to take AR to the masses at that time. Had we launched it now, with AR finding its audience at last, I am convinced it would be a different story.
Stay tuned, all the best.

for me (as an interactive media student) this is a great material you post here. I am actually writing about the sphere which is between computer games and immersive virtual reality, including ar. it does not fit your diagram, but according to P. Lévy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_L%C3%A9vy_(philosopher), his book Cyberculture) real and virtual are not opposites, but virtual and actual are. it is more complicated however. another thing is Jeffrey Shaw's Golden Calf (http://www.jeffrey-shaw.net/html_main/frameset-works.php3) - imho an important piece of ar history, might be interesting for you. and the last info I want to share is about an android ar app Wikitude (http://www.gadgetell.com/tech/comment/augmented-reality-android-app-wikitude/) - which I use on my g1.
sorry for incidental mistakes. looking forward to next part :)
